The practice has a reputation for listening to and working with its clients using knowledge and experience to create beautiful buildings that stand the test of time and are a pleasure to use.

OUR APPROACH

Macallan Penfold was founded in 1989 and continues to grow. With over 200 projects successfully delivered, the practice has a reputation for delivering high quality work and prides itself on its partnerships with clients. Many of its clients have worked with the team several times due to the extensive experience and creativity shown in every project.

Macallan Penfold is an architectural practices that listens and where relationships are a priority – listening to clients ensures that the team works to achieve an end result that is inspiring. Macallan Penfold has a diverse portfolio that includes residential properties, education, community and commercial buildings. One thing the work has in common, aside from good quality design, is that every project focuses on putting people firmly at its centre.

Macallan Penfold is a RIBA chartered practice. It provides a full range of services including project design, feasibility studies, planning applications, listed building and other consents, working drawings, building regulations and procurement.

OUR TEAM

Mark Penfold
With over 30 years experience and a founder of the practice, Mark has designed award winning buildings in education, community and residential sectors. He chairs the South Downs National Park and the North East Hampshire Design Review Panels, and chairs the board of an arts company. He is an accomplished classical organist and sings in a large choral society.
Andrew Aldridge
In 35 years as an architect, Andrew has extensive experience managing medium and large practices, with UK and European experience working on and leading large and complex schemes, focusing on strong client and user focus. A talented designer and practical he is an advocate of well organised team working. Andrew is a local parish councillor and has a young family.
Philip Terry
With nearly 30 years experience as a chartered architect working in a number of practices in the private sector and 20 years with Macallan Penfold, Philip’s experience includes works within health, education, home office, commercial and domestic sectors. Philip enjoys sailing, walking and travel.
Lee Packman
Lee has been a chartered architect for 8 years, and has worked on projects in the public and private sectors. Lee has successfully completed the RIBA course and taken on the role of ‘Principal Designer’ under the CDM regulations. Lee has a young family and enjoys sport and photography.
Nigel Lowe
With over 30 years experience as an architect, before joining Macallan Penfold Nigel was a partner in a small practice working in the light industrial and office sectors and worked with an associate practice in the Bahamas on luxury residential developments. Nigel is a governor at a primary school and enjoys fishing and motorcycling.
Richard Custerson
As an architectural student Richard was awarded student of the year. In his years of experience, he has worked for a number of practices in managing roles that included IT, Technical design, CAD and Graphics. He is also a 3D graphic artist and his work has been featured in specialist magazines, conventions and websites.

AWARDS

At Macallan Penfold one of the greatest rewards is seeing a project completed and to share in the experience of people using the buildings.
