Beggarwood Community Centre opened in early 2018 and had its conception during the community masterplanning exercise for Beggarwood Park, in south west Basingstoke.

With a floor area of around 200 square metres, it provides spaces for community activities and meetings by local groups.

The accommodation was derived from the priorities identified by local interest groups through an extensive consultation process. This stated that the scheme should be designed to blend in with the natural landscape and have separate individually-serviced function spaces, each with views over the park.

One area is now used as a hall for hire for pilates classes, community groups and the brownies. The other, slightly smaller, area is a licensed café bar, used as a stopping-off point when walking through the park.

There is also an external storage facility and externally accessible toilets for use by local wildlife groups.
