INDEPENDENT LEARNING CENTRE

This project, arranged around the College’s southern courtyard, provided much-needed additional space in the ILC to increase student use of IT as a resource outside of classroom teaching, and enlarged the existing Design & Technology and 3D Design teaching spaces. The main ILC facilities now comprise a library with 18000 titles, a computer suite with 115 PC’s, and quiet study areas. The glazed wall of the new extension links to the landscaped courtyard, which provides external social space for students in a sheltered environment. The generous overhang to the roof shades the study areas.
