We are delighted to have received a Commendation in the Education Buildings category at the Waverley Design Awards on 14th March for the design of the St Hugh’s building at Holy Cross Hospital, Haslemere.

The new building has significantly improved the available training and study facilities for the specialist care that the hospital provides for those with severe and complex neurological disabilities, and provides administration offices that have brought support services staff together, freeing-up valuable space within the main hospital buildings for primary care functions.

The building design resolves a difficult sloping site and is arranged on two levels to enable the building to provide direct level access to the existing hospital at both ground and first floor.  The building was described as ‘an understated and hidden gem’ which nestles into its wooded setting.
