Macallan Penfold has recently secured planning consent to add two new courtyard buildings within the historic parkland setting of Worting House, a Georgian grade II listed building on the western edge of Basingstoke in Hampshire.

The proposals, which total almost 1700 square metres, provide new office space and a fitness centre to complement both the main house and an adjoining listed Coach House, which are used as serviced offices.

These new buildings will be arranged tightly within the curtilage of the existing Walled Garden, and set-down within the depth of the sloping site, thereby reducing the impact of their height. The intention is to provide a critical mass of new accommodation whilst mitigating any detrimental impact on the setting of the existing buildings.
